To surely report an ending schedule and to improve handleability by detecting the supporting loads of a rotary drum, calculating its change rate, estimating the amount of clothes inside the rotary drum and a moisture content and predicting and displaying a time until the end of drying.
When an activation switch is turned on under the setting of an automatic operation made, an operation control part 6 initializes a predicted value until the end of drying by the detection data of an ambient temperature sensor S1 and a load sensor S immediately before rotating the rotary drum and displays it at a display part 62. The output of the load sensor S3 is fetched at a prescribed sampling cycle during a drying operation and an average load during a prescribed time (about 10 seconds for instance) is obtained. Then, after a time required for advancing the drying of the clothes at a certain degree is elapsed, the average load is similarly obtained again. A detected load change rate is calculated from the two average loads. Then, a drying load is judged from the average loads, the moisture content is judged from a judged result and the load change rate and the drying end time is predicted and displayed at the display part 62.
