Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject coating composition having excellent heat resis tance, excellent high-temperature sealing power and autohesion by dissolving an aromatic polysulfone having specific viscosity, a polyhydroxy polyether resin and a titanium chelate compound in an organic solvent such as m-cresol.

CONSTITUTION: A composition comprising 10-200 pts.wt. aromatic polysulfone having a repeating unit of the formula and 0.35-0.6dl/g reduced viscosity measured in N,N-dimethylformamide in 1/dl concentration at 30°C, 100 pts.wt. polyhydroxy polyether resin and 0.3-6.0 pts.wt. titanium chelate compound calculated as titanium weight is dissolved in one organic solvent such as m-cresol, N,N-dimethylformamide, N,N-dimethylacetamide or N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone in ≤30wt.% concentration to give the objective coating, composition for insulated electric wire useful as an adhesive layer of the outermost layer of insulated electric wire of autohesion, having excellent heat resistance and high-temperature sealing power.
