Abstract:
To appropriately determine the propriety of the combustion state of fuel in each cylinder of an internal combustion engine.
The rotation speed of a crankshaft of the internal combustion engine is detected iteratively for every 30° of crankshaft angle. The time series znT of the rotation speeds of the crankshaft detected in the past are input in an auto-regressive model to estimate the rotation speed xn of the crankshaft in the future. The propriety of combustion of fuel in the cylinder 1 is determined on the basis of the difference between the estimated value xn and the actual value xR of the rotation speed of the crankshaft.
