Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use a copying device by feeding a document from a non-circulation type document feeder to a circulation type document feeder at the elimination of a jam.
SOLUTION: If a document in an automatic document feeder(ADF) 230 remains as it was when a copy start key is pressed down, a copy forbidding unit is actuated, and it is determined that a jamming document is set on a document mounting base 201 in a circulation type automatic document feeder(RDF) 200, so that, in feeding of the documents from a document mounting base 231 in the ADF 230 to the document mounting base 201 in the RDF 201, the documents are conveyed without being copied when they pass over a contact glass 101. After all the documents are fed from the document mounting base 231 in the ADF 230 to the document mounting base 201 in the RDF 200, the documents are fed onto the contact glass 101, so that only the documents, which are removed in the generation of a jam so as to be set on the document mounting base 201, and the documents fed after the elimination of a jam are copied, while the documents fed before the generation of a jam are not copied.
