Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a current limiter capable of avoiding quench of a superconducting coil by preventing the passage of an overcurrent through a superconducting coil in advance and also by attenuating the following current when a warning sign of quench is detected.SOLUTION: A current limiter 12 inserted in series into a superconducting coil 10 includes a winding 22 whose critical current is smaller than that of the superconducting coil 10, and at least one surface thereof is closely adhered to a bobbin 20 being a hot bath via an electric insulation layer 21. Moreover, a conductor wire 41 for the detour is provided in which current detours the winding 22 during current-limiting operation and at least one surface thereof is made to be closely adhered to an exclusive hot bath via the electric insulation layer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
