Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible tube for an exhaust system in an automobile which meets required performance such as reduction in cost, high displacement absorptivity and high durability while adopting supporting structure for an outer pipe by means of a conical coil spring, and which is improved in prevention of generation of contact interferencial noise between the conicl coil spring and both pipes, and in durability and reliability of the conical coil spring.
SOLUTION: In this type of flexible tube, an inner pipe 10 is fixed to one end of bellows 3. A conical coil sprig 6 is interposed between an outer pipe 5 and the inner pipe 10, and fixed at its both ends. A pipe recession 16 and a pipe cutout 17 are formed in spring start end areas between the conical coil spring 6 and both the pipes 5, 10, with contactness or slight clearances. They are provided with clearance spaces in axial directions, for avoiding contact interference between the conical coil spring 6 and the pipes 5, 10, which is caused by spring amplitude.
