Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a food raw material for suppressing increase of a blood sugar value, easily usable without exhibiting any side effect and useful for prevention and therapy, etc., of diabetes of a human or an animal by using a substance derived from a water-soluble fraction extracted from a Panus cornucopiae basidiocarp as an active component.
SOLUTION: This raw material contains a substance derived from a water-soluble fraction extracted from a Panus cornucopiae as an edible mushroom, as an active component, or an enzyme-treated substance obtained by treating the water-soluble fraction with an enzyme formulation containing β-1,3-glucanase (using amount is preferably 0.05-5 wt.% based on the weight of a condensate of the water-soluble fraction) as an active component. Preferably, a dose of the active component is within the range of 1-300 g per 4 day as a solid component.
