The heat sink includes a base 10 and two or more fins 11 mounted on the base. In the fin 11, a width 22a in a principal plane direction of a section 22 near a tip end is narrower than a width 21a in a principal plane direction of a base 21, and further the forms of the tip end are asymmetrical in the fin width direction. Thereby, speed of natural convection of the tip end of the fin becomes high, so that a convection heat transfer rate of the tip end is improved, and heat dissipation efficiency of the entire heat sink is improved. Preferably, the adjacent fins are arranged at the positions where the positions of the tip ends are not overlaid in the fin width direction. Thereby, since the tip ends of the adjacent fins are not overlaid, heat interference due to radiation between the adjacent fins is reduced, and further the heat dissipation is improved.
