PURPOSE: To provide the titled dust collecting apparatus which can be installed in a relatively small occupation area and is efficient from the aspects of operation and equipment, constituted by assembling a filtering and dust collecting apparatus having filter bags between the gas introducing pipe of gravity precipitation type dust remover and the outer shell thereof.

CONSTITUTION: In a gravity precipitation type dust remover wherein a gas introducing pipe 8 is provided to the upper part of an outer shell supported by support members 18 and an ash discharge apparatus 17 is provided to the lower part thereof, a filtering and dust collecting apparatus 9, wherein filter bags 12 are mounted between the gas introducing pipe 8 for introducing shaft furnace gas G and the outer shell 7 of the above mentioned dust remover and a dust collecting chamber surrounded by the outer shell 7, a floor part 10 and a ceiling part 11 is formed while a gas intake port (i) is provided to the floor part 10 having a level equal to that of the lower end part of the above mentioned gas introducing pipe 8 and purified gas outlets 13, 13' are provided to the ceiling part 11, is assembled to constitute a high pressure dry dust collecting apparatus for a shaft furnace. At the time of the usual operation of the above mentioned apparatus, coarse dust is precipitated under gravity and removed while purified gas is sent into the dust collecting chamber from a conduit 14 by a blower 16 at the time of backwashing and fine dust collected by the filter bags 12 is dropped and discharged from the ash discharge apparatus 17.
