Abstract:

To provide a novel imidazole silane compound and a method for synthesizing the same, and a silane coupling agent containing the imidazole silane compound as a component.

The imidazole silane compound is obtained by a reaction of a 2-mercaptoimidazole compound represented by the following formula (I) or a 2-mercaptobenzimidazole compound represented by the following formula (II) with 3-halopropyltrialkoxysilane or the like (in the formulae, R1 to R8 each represents a hydrogen atom, a C1 to C20 alkyl group, an allyl group, a benzyl group, or an aryl group).
