To provide a method of calibrating a flowmeter transducer.SOLUTION: A method of calibrating a flowmeter transducer is provided, comprising: exciting a vibration mode of a flowmeter flow tube 800; ceasing to excite the vibration mode (802); measuring a free decay response of the flow tube (804); extracting amplitudes and phases of the free decay response at a drive frequency of vibration (806); and calculating a range of motion 810, peak velocity 812, and strength of the transducer by modeling a curve for a polynomial nonlinearity model 814.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
