PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a signal transmission cable having a sufficient shielding effect by improving the adhesiveness between a resin and metal plating and a signal transmission cable.SOLUTION: A production method of signal transmission cable includes: a step of forming an insulator layer that forms an insulator layer in the surrounding of a conductor; a step of roughening a surface such that the surface roughness RzJIS of the insulator layer is 0.1 μm or larger; a step of modifying a surface of the roughened insulator layer after the step of surface roughening; and a step of forming a shield layer made of a plating film in the surrounding of the insulator layer that has been surface roughened and modified.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
