This is a manufacturing method for the plasma display panel which includes a front substrate 1 and a rear substrate 4 opposed to each other interposing a discharge space G, a sealing member 9 for sealing the peripheral part of the front substrate 1 and the rear substrate 4, and barrier ribs 6 for demarcating the discharge space G. The method includes a temporary fixing process in which, before the front substrate 1 and the rear substrate 4 are sealed, the front substrate 1 and the rear substrate 4 are overlapped and the outer peripheral part is clipped in the thickness direction of the plasma display panel with a clip (clipping member) 10 having a clipping force of 1.2-2.05 kgf and temporarily fixed.
