Title:
METHOD FOR COLD ROLLING OF STAINLESS STEEL SHEET
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3785769
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cold rolling by which a surface quality free from winding flaws, roll indentation flaws, gloss irregularities, galling or the like is obtained even in case of rolling a stainless steel sheet at a high rolling velocity of ≥600 mpm by a reversing mill, above all in the case of ferritic stainless steel obtaining a gloss of ≥400 at Gs 60°C.
SOLUTION: When a stainless steel sheet 20 is cold rolled by a reversing mill having small sized work rolls 10 with a diameter of ≥50 mm and ≤120 mm using emulsion oil, at least in the case of winding after one pass, an original liquid of rolling mill lubricant of a viscocity of ≥6 cSt and <20 cSt is supplied to the steel sheet 20. On the entrance side of rolling, the emulsion oil is not supplied to the steel sheet but supplied only to the roll 10; on the outlet side the supply is made to the rolls and steel sheet, as well. Further, the applied density of emulsion oil may be ≤5 vol.% and the average particle size may be ≤5 μm, as well.
