Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cut an elastomer in a high accuracy, when the elastomeric material is cut, by applying a tension to a wire and stretching the wire between two fixed devices, and by traversing the wire through the elastomeric material in the state that it is oscillated.
SOLUTION: A cutter assembly 10 is made up by fixing both ends 14, 16 of a wire 12 to be cut by means of collets 22, 24, and the wire 12 is made deformable in the shape of an elastomeric material is cut. The collet 24 is oscillatably suspended with regard to a second arm 48 pivotally mounted on a frame 52, and the collet 22 is suspended by a first arm 42 turnably fitted to the frame 52. The respective arms 42 and 48 give oscillation to the wire 12 by the operation of a variable speed motor whose eccentric 60 is connected to an output shaft 64, and the wire 12 is relatively moved to the elastomeric material by the operation of a motor 78 for rotating a ball screw 74, and thereby the elastomeric material is cut.
