To provide a method for increasing the production of a hematopoietic stem cell involving the administration of a TPO mimetic compound to a subject, and to provide a pharmaceutical composition containing the TPO mimetic compound and a pharmaceutically permissible carrier.

The TPO mimetic compound is a peptide comprising a specific amino acid sequence and used for increasing the production of a hematopoietic stem cell in a subject. Use of the TPO mimetic compound in the production of a medicine for increasing the production of a hematopoietic stem cell in a subject is disclosed. The method for giving a hematopoietic stem cell to a subject comprises: a step in which the expansion of the stem cell group in bone marrow is heightened by the administration of the TPO mimetic compound to the subject; and/or a step in which the stem cell circulating in the periphery is mobilized; a step in which bone marrow stem cell or one or more stem cells circulating in the periphery are collected; and a step in which the collected stem cells are implanted to the subject.
