Abstract:
To provide an MgB2 wire material which has small AC loss and allows easy wire drawing, and a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: In an MgB2 superconductive wire material SW, in a cross section of the MgB2 superconductive wire material SW, a plurality of stabilization materials 6 having electric conductivity higher than that of a barrier material 5 including a plurality of MgB2 filaments 4 are joined to outside of a filament bundle 3 composed of the plurality of MgB2 filaments 4 and the barrier material 5. A method for manufacturing an MgB2 superconductive wire material SW sequentially performs a filling step S1, a single core material manufacturing step S2, a multicore element wire manufacturing step S3 and a heat treatment step S4, obtains a multicore element wire having generated MgB2, and then performs a joining step S5 of joining a plurality of stabilization materials 6 having electric conductivity higher than that of the barrier material 5 to the multicore element wire including the generated MgB2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
