PURPOSE: To make transfer of molten metal easy by arranging a tubular furnace main body, a trough shape box body equipped with a metering/pouring valve device, a movable weir freely ascendable/descendable placed at these boundary, a pressure enclosing tubular body inserted/held in the furnace main body and a compressed air inlet therein.

CONSTITUTION: A high temp. molten metal supplied to a furnace main body 1 is pressurized by the compressed air injected from a compressed air inlet 3a of a pressure enclosing tubular body 3 so as to change a liquid level and go over a movable weir 4 from an opening of the lower end, transferring to a trough shape box body 2. When a liquid level in the trough shape box body 2 becomes higher than the upper end of the movable weir, compressed air is exhausted from the pressure enclosing tubular body 3, the molten metal in the trough shape box body 2 leaves a liquid level up to the upper end of the movable weir and returns to the furnace main body, freely flowing down. The molten metal having a volume of the specified quantity adjusted by a height of the movable weir is supplied to the trough shape box body 2. By this method, moving/tilting of a holding furnace is not required for transferring molten metal, having great energy saving. Also, the molten metal is shut off from outside, having lower generation of so as to prevent quality from deterioration.
