PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a currency processing device capable of achieving downsizing, weight saving, and low cost of the device while enabling self checkup, and a checkup method of the same.SOLUTION: A currency processing device includes denomination stackers 41a to 41f for accommodating each of single denomination coins and sending out accommodated coins, an identification unit 33 for identifying and counting the coins, and a controller. After making one denomination stacker 41a send out coins to make the other denomination stacker 41f store them once, by making the other denomination stacker 41f send out coins to make an identification unit 33 identify and count them to return the one denomination coin to the one denomination stacker 41a, the controller checks coins accommodated in one denomination stacker 41a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
