To provide an optical drop cable capable of preventing water from infiltrating a housing part for housing coated optical fiber, and stabilizing an optical transmission characteristic.
The optical drop cable comprises an optical fiber 11 consisting of a plurality of optical fibers or a single optical fiber, a housing part 3 for housing this optical fiber 11, tension members 5 arranged in parallel on both sides of the housing part 3, a cable sheath 7 made of a thermoplastic resin coating the housing part 3 and the tension members 5 in one body, and notched parts 9 of almost a V-shape provided on the cable sheath orthogonal to the positions of the tension member arrangement 5, and since water infiltrating can be prevented wherever the optical drop cable 1 may be cut off, by filling the air gap in the housing part 3 housing the optical fiber(s) with a filler 13, water run can be prevented in the housing part 3. As a result, it is possible to inhibit the optical transmission characteristic from being lowered.
