The device is provided with an eccentricity measuring part which measures the eccentricity amplitude amp and an eccentricity phase T to a rotational reference position as the eccentricity information based on the detection of the zero crossing of a tracking error signal under the condition that the drive of a carriage and lens by a positioner is stopped; an eccentricity memory which stores a sine value for one rotation in accordance with the rotational position of the medium; and an eccentricity correcting part which finds the medium eccentricity quantity from the sine value read from the eccentricity memory and eccentricity measurement information by the measuring part and controls the positioner so that the eccentricity quantity may be countervailed.
