Title:
PARTICLE BEAM DETECTOR AND NEUTRON DETECTOR USING ZSN PHOSPHOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2005300479
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a particle beam detector which responds to high counting rate measurement and with low sensitivity with respect to gamma ray.

By using ZnS:Ag, Cl phosphors which have a very large phosphor quantity to particle beam and can be easily detected, as it is, a newly found phenomenon that the phosphor lifetime in a wavelength region with short wavelength being short is used to improve the counting characteristics, whereby high-counting rate measurements of particle beam are realized. When a phosphor wavelength shorter than 450 nm is cut out by use of B370 as an optical filter, the phosphor lifetime of a short phosphor lifetime component could be improved from 370 ns to 200 ns.
