To provide a plated terminal for a connector, including a tin plating layer with aluminum or an aluminum alloy as a base material, and suppressing connection reliability deterioration due to corrosion of the plating layer and corrosion resistance deterioration of the base material.
A plated terminal for a connector is prepared by forming a zinc plating layer in contact with the surface of a base material including aluminum or an aluminum alloy, forming a nickel plating layer in contact with the surface of the zinc plating layer, and forming a tin plating layer in contact with the nickel plating layer, and the thickness of a zinc layer that is left without diffusing to the adjacent layers is less than 0.1 μm. The thickness of the nickel plating layer is preferably within the range of 0.5-1.5 μm.
