Abstract:
To provide a neutral, room-temperature curable fluorosilicone crosslinking agent corresponding to not only needs for a noncorrosive sealant of a fuel tank, but also needs for neutral curable system in which the change of fluorine contents of the sealant is unnecessary of a silanol-terminated fluorine- containing polydiorganosiloxane polymer.
A silanol-terminated polyfluoroalkylsilicone fluid is reacted with a polyalkoxysilane in the presence of a platinum group metal catalyst to provide the objective fluorosilicone crosslinker. A neutral solvent-resistant, condensation-curable sealant can be prepared by using the fluorosilicone crosslinker in combination with a silanol-terminated fluoroalkyl-substituted polydiorganosiloxane.
