To provide a method for producing rice cake suitable for mass production by readily and uniformly laminating freshly-pounded soft rice cakes which are materials in producing rice cake such as sliced and dried rice cake, rice-cake cubes or rice cracker having laminated two or more layers.

A middle frame 4 having no bottom is detachably placed on the bottom plate 51 of outer frame 5 wider than the middle frame 4 and having bottom and freshly pounded soft rice cakes 2A (2a), 2B (2a) and 2A (2a) which become materials of each layer 11, 12 or 13 of rice cake are successively laminated in the middle frame 4 and the middle frame is taken out and the laminated rice cake 2b is nearly and uniformly widened in inner dimensions of the outer frame 5 to form plate-like rice cake 2c for cutting into rice cake pieces 2e which becomes a base of one rice cake.
