Abstract:
PURPOSE: To wind a seal material around a honeycomb catalyst without applying external pressure or an impact to the honeycomb catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: This seal material winding apparatus winding a strip like seal material 2 around the outer peripheral wall of the honeycomb catalyst 1 consists of a placing stand 10 on which the honeycomb catalyst 1 is placed and a lift means 11 moving the placing stand 10 up and down. Further, a seal material receiving stand 6a supporting the seal material 2 at the seal material winding position of the honeycomb catalyst 1 placed on the placing stand 10 and press rollers 8a, 8b pressing the seal material 2 to the outer peripheral wall of the honeycomb catalyst 1 during the up and down movement of the placing stand 10 are provided. Therefore, the seal material can be accurately and certainly wound even around a thin-walled honeycomb catalyst easy to be damaged at a time of unification.
