The seat apparatus 1 includes: a leg rest 4; a seat bottom 2; the link mechanism 20 which couples the front of the seat bottom 2 with the leg rest 4 and which supports the leg rest 4 in such a way as movable between the state of hanging from the front of the seat bottom 2 and the state of raised forward from the seat bottom 2; and side cover pieces 71a and 72a to cover sides of the link mechanism 20 while the leg rest 4 is raised forward.
