Title:
TEMPERATURE LIMITER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01225179
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To automatically reset a temperature limiter when an environmental temperature is returned to a normal state after a circuit current is limited by connecting a superconducting material having a critical temperature substantially equal to a specified limiting temperature between electrodes. CONSTITUTION:A current limiting element 12 having a superconducting material connected between electrodes 1 and 2 is electrically connected between the electrodes 1 and 2, and the critical temperature of the material is so set as to be substantially equal to a specified limiting temperature, i.e., the upper limit of an allowable environmental temperature. Accordingly, when the environmental temperature becomes higher than the critical temperature of the material of the element 12, the material is converted from a superconducting state to a normal conducting state to stop or interrupt a current. When the generation of heat is then reduced so as to be lower than the specified limiting temperature, the material becomes lower than the critical temperature to become the superconducting state. As a result, it becomes a normal state. Thus, the automatic resetting after the current is limited is performed.
