Abstract:
PURPOSE:To stabilize the flow of the fluid in a scooping pipe chamber and to prevent the vibration of the scooping pipe in the variable speed fluid coupling, by fixing a flow-rectifying means at the opening end of the scooping pipe. CONSTITUTION:The variable speed fluid coupling has a pump runner 4 which is fixed to a power input shaft 1 and a turbine runner 11 fixed to the power output shaft 8. A rotary casing 17 is fixed to the pump runner 4. The rotary casing 17 has the scooping pipe chamber 20, and the scooping pipe 22(30) is provided so that the position of the scooping mouth 23(31) with respect to the direction of the radius can be changed. In this case, to a back part 33 on the side of the scooping mouth 31 of the scooping pipe 30, is fixed a flow-rectifying plate 32 which forms a oil flow path 36 between the side part 35 of the end of the scooping pipe 30 and the bottom. By the bottom part 39 of the flow-rectifying plate 32, the separation of the fluid flow is prevented, and the stable flow can be secured.
