Abstract:
PURPOSE:To keep out water from reflux and enable exhaust gas of being discharged from an engine by mounting a flat opening and closing valve in an exhaust passage and forming holes in an area from the valve supporting position to the upstream part. CONSTITUTION:A flat opening and closing valve 32 supported by a support shaft 34 is mounted in the exhaust pipe 24 of a boat engine. The opening and closing valve 32 is supported in such a manner that it can be turned to tilt from a phase of closing an exhaust passage 24 to a phase of opening it. Holes 38 are formed in the valve 32 within the area from the supporting position of the opening and closing valve 32 to the upstream part for exhaust gas. Water reflux may then be prevented and even with the valve closed fully, exhaust gas be discharged via the holes.
