Abstract:
PURPOSE: To facilitate width adjustment of the end of each web, even though it is made of a non-expansive material by installing an expansive belt on the setting surface of each hollow set table in a thin and long form, providing the setting surface and the belt with a plurality of communication holes which are in communication with one another, and putting the hollows of the set tables in a low pressure.
CONSTITUTION: Expansive belts 21, 21a are installed on the setting surfaces of hollow set tables 6, 17 in a thin and long form, and pulleys 22, 22a are mounted rotatably on the set tables 6, 17 to support the free ends of the belts 21, 21a and adjust the tension of the belts 21, 21a, while levers 23, 23a are also furnished to rotate the pulleys 22, 22a. The set surfaces and belts 21, 21a are provided in their whole areas with a plurality of communication holes 80 which are in communication with one another, and a vacuum device is installed to put the hollows of the set tables 6, 17 in a low pressure. The end of each web is drawn out onto the belts 21, 21a and the vacuum device is operated, and thereupon the levers 23, 23a are turned for accommodating the belts, and thus the with adjustment of the web end is conducted.
