Abstract:

To decrease a material cost by cold-forging a Zr or Zr alloy in the normal temperature easily treated and formed into a shaft-like part with a stepping to improve the yield of the material.

In the method for manufacturing the Zr or Zr alloy-made shaft-like part with the stepping, containing a forming process for forming a shaft-like base stock composed of the Zr or the Zr alloy into the shaft-like part with the stepping, this forming process is contained of an oxidized film forming process for forming the oxidized film on the surface of the shaft-like base stock and the cold-forging process for forming the shaft-like base stock formed with the oxidized film into the shaft-shape with the stepping by using a prescribed forming die.
