Abstract:
An objective of the present invention is to provide a display device capable of preventing a sealant from infiltrating into a display area. This display device comprises a first substrate, a second substrate, and a liquid crystal layer provided between the first substrate and the second substrate. The first substrate and the second substrate have a display area, and a frame area around the display area. The frame area includes a sealant provided between the first substrate and the second substrate, and an encapsulation part provided between the liquid crystal layer and the sealant. The encapsulation part comprises a bank provided in one among the first substrate and the second substrate, and a groove provided in the other among the first substrate and the second substrate. The top surface of the bank is in contact with the bottom surface of the groove.
