This image reading device is provided with: a light guide (5, 6) having a main scan-direction end surface for entry of light from a light source, and extending in a main-scan direction in which light is output toward an object to be read that moves relatively in a sub-scan direction; an optical filter which is disposed between the main scan-direction end surface of the light guide (5, 6) and the light source, and which blocks or attenuates a specific wavelength of light from the light emitted from the light source; a lens body which converges reflected light reflected by the object to be read and causes the reflected light to be focused on a light-receiving body for conversion into an electric signal; and a lens holder (11, 12) which holds the light guide (5, 6), the optical filter, and the lens body. The lens holder (11, 12) is provided with: a first positioning unit (11a, 11b, 12a, 12b) which determines the position of the light guide (5, 6) in the height direction and the sub-scan direction; and a second positioning unit (11h, 11i, 12h, 12i, 11j, 11k, 12j, 12k) which determines the position of the optical filter in the height direction and the sub-scan direction.
