Title:
METHOD FOR AMPLIFYING RNA, AND ITS USE IN EXPRESSION PROFILING
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2003106680
Kind Code:
B1
Abstract:
The invention relates to the field of enzymatic gene amplification, and particularly to the provision of multigene expression profiles derived from messenger RNA. Then invention provides a method for amplifying RNA from a sample, preferably for obtaining an expression profile of cellular RNA, comprising the step of amplifying (cellular) RNA by contacting said RNA with an a first amplification primer, an RNA-dependent polymerase and nucleotides to synthesize a copy nucleic acid from said RNA, wherein said first amplification primer comprises a 3'-fragment capable of hybridizing with a poly-A tail of mRNA and said RNA-dependent polymerase is capable of providing an extension to said first strand copy nucleic acid allowing hybridisation with a second amplification primer.
