Abstract:
A pneumatic tyre (1) which has a side reinforcing layer (9) formed by covering organic fibre cords, which extend parallel to ply cords of a carcass body section (5a), with rubber only in a sidewall section (3a) of a half section (1a) that is at one side in the tyre width direction and has the tyre equatorial plane (CL) as a boundary. The side reinforcing layer (9) is disposed inside the carcass body section (5a). When the present invention is mounted to an application rim, filled to a stipulated internal pressure, and in an unloaded state, the inner end (9a) of the side reinforcing layer (9) in the tyre radial direction is positioned further inwards in the tyre radial direction than the outermost position (R0) of a rim flange in the tyre radial direction, and the outer end section (9b) of the side reinforcing layer (9) in the tyre radial direction overlaps a belt (6) by 5 mm or more in the tyre width direction. A tread section (2) has one or more circumferential direction main grooves (11, 12, 13) which extend in the tyre circumferential direction. In a maximum loaded state, the ground contact width (W1) of an outermost land section (14a) at one side in the tyre width direction is greater than the ground contact width (W2) of an outermost land section (14b) at the other side in the tyre width direction.
