Abstract:
To provide a signal processing apparatus that can improve gradation reproducibility of a liquid crystal device.SOLUTION: A display gradation number acquisition unit 42 acquires the number of display gradations in every one horizontal scanning period of video data. A first display gradation holding period value creation unit 43 creates a first display gradation holding period value on the basis of a difference in gradation value. A second display gradation holding period value creation unit 44 creates a second display gradation holding period value on the basis of the number of pixels for each of the display gradation. A holding period provisional value creation unit 45 selects a display gradation holding period value having a larger value from the first display gradation holding period value and the second display gradation holding period value and creates a holding period provisional value. A holding period total sum value creation unit 46 creates a holding period total sum value that is the total sum value of the holding period provisional values in every one horizontal scanning period. A holding period optimal value creation unit 47 creates a holding period optimal value of each of the display gradations based on a display object gradation number that is the number of gradations of an object of display in every one horizontal scanning period and the holding period total sum value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
