Abstract:
To prepare a liquid crystal composition comprising a liquid crystal having a Fd-3m structure, which is conventionally composed of a special compound, in a wide range of compositions by a simple method.SOLUTION: The liquid crystal composition comprises a liquid crystal having a Fd-3m structure, in which a surfactant (a), an oil agent (b) and water (c) are blended. The surfactant (a) is a surfactant that can form at least one structure (x) in a hexagonal structure and a pre-hexagonal structure by mixing with water (c). The oil agent (b) is an oil agent that does not convert all of the structure (x) into a lamellar structure by mixing with the structure (x). The ratio of the surfactant (a) and the water (c) constituting the liquid crystal composition is a ratio that induces formation of the structure (x) by mixing the surfactant (a) and the water (c).SELECTED DRAWING: None
