Abstract:
To solve such a problem that in the case of forming a surface layer containing photocatalyst particles on the surface of a tile, the coloring happens by photoreduction reaction of iron when the surface layer is brought into contact with the water containing iron ions.
The photoreduction capacity of the surface layer on the surface of the tile expressing hydrophilicity is restrained by irradiating with an ultraviolet ray or the like. Concretely, the tile is immersed in the water containing 2 ppm iron ion and the change of color difference ΔE is made to satisfy the inequality: ΔE≤1 when the surface layer is irradiated with the light having the energy higher than the band gap energy of the photocatalyst particles under such a condition that the photon density per unit time is 1×1015/sec.cm2 and the accumulated photon density is 8×1019/cm2.
