To provide an apparatus for producing a nanocarbon material which hardly agglomerates and the dispersibility of which is improved and to provide a method for purifying the nanocarbon material.
The apparatus for producing the nanocarbon material includes: a nanocarbon material production section 15 for producing the nanocarbon material with a catalyst in a fluidized-bed reactor; an acid treatment unit 17 for dispersing the obtained nanocarbon material with the catalyst in an acid solution 16 to dissolve/separate the catalyst by the acid solution 16; a water washing unit 19 for washing the acid-treated nanocarbon material 18 with water; a filtration unit 23 for filtering the nanocarbon material 18 washed with water; a drying unit 24 for drying the filtered nanocarbon material; and a pulverization unit 25 for pulverizing the dried nanocarbon material to obtain a purified nanocarbon material 26.
