Abstract:
PURPOSE:To raise an energy saving effect by absorbing a difference current portion of a DC output current and a current flowing to a control winding, when a semiconductor switch is turned off, and generating an output signal being proportional to a load state of an inductive load. CONSTITUTION:When a semiconductor switch 88 is turned off, a current absorbing circuit 90 executes an action for absorbing a difference current portion of a DC output current of a rectifier 84 and a DC exciting current. A voltage control element 92 conducts when an exciting voltage reaches a voltage limited by the voltage control element 92, so that an overvoltage is not applied to the semiconductor switch 88 and the current absorbing circuit 90. A control circuit 34 responds to an output signal (f) of a load state detecting circuit 32, controls an exciting current I' by controlling a conduction ratio of the semiconductor switch 88, and adjusts an output voltage supplied to an inductive load 18 from a control reactor 24 so that the power factor becomes near '1'. In such a way, the inductive load 18 is always driven by optimum power in accordance with a load state, and a remarkable energy saving effect is obtained.
