Abstract:
To provide a binding device that restricts hitching of a binding needle 79 when a sheet bundle is taken out of an insertion part 51.SOLUTION: The sheet binding device includes: the insertion part 51 into which a sheet bundle is inserted; and a driving machine 58 that drives the binding needle 79 into the sheet bundle inserted into the insertion part 51. The sheet bundle is bound by driving of the binding needle 79. At least either one of a first wall 65a and a second wall 66a of the insertion part 51 that are facing each other is dented. When a sheet bundle is taken out of the insertion part 51, by passing the protruding part out of the sheet bundle surface at the binding needle 79 through the dent, hitching of the binding needle 79 against the first wall 65a or the second wall 66a can be restricted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 24
