Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the nozzle from being closed due to generation an oxide and a nitride caused by a reaction of O and N in the nozzle and a molten metal in the pouring nozzle, in biroll type sheet casting.
CONSTITUTION: In the method for casting directly a sheet by pouring a molten metal to a biroll type casting machine through a pouring nozzle in which the inner nozzle is inserted into the outer nozzle 22, an atmosphere in the pouring nozzle is replaced with inert gas in advance, and when pouring of the molten metal is started to a biroll subsequently to the replacement, it is prevented that the nozzle is closed, and the quality and state of the sheet are not deteriorated.
