Title:
BURR REMOVING METHOD FOR VALVE HEAD PERIPHERY AT ENGINE VALVE HOT FORGING TIME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS61202739
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To increase a work efficiency by performing the burr removing work of the valve head periphery at engine valve hot forging time within the same cycle as that of the forging by shearing.

CONSTITUTION: An engine valve 8 is formed by inserting into the lower die 3 the billet 7 having a ball shaped tip heated by a billet heater in advance and by pressurizing to the upper metal die 5 with ascending a press monkey 2. The formed engine valve 8 has burr on its valve head outer diameter, which is taken out of the lower die 3 by smith's tong and inserted into a burr removing ring 4. The lower die 3 and burr removing ring 4 are thereafter pressurized against the upper metal die 5 and punch 6 respectively by inserting the heated billet into the lower metal die 3 and by ascending the press monkey 2. The burr removing is performed simultaneously by forging formation on the metal die and shearing on the ring 4 and punch 6. The burr removed engine valve is discharged by a chuter.
