Title:
CARBON NANOTUBE FOR ELECTRON EMISSION SOURCE AND MATERIAL FOR ELECTRON EMISSION SOURCE AS WELL AS MANUFACTURING METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2003317607
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To improve electron emission volume of a field emission type electron emission source using a CNT, without raising field intensity.

The CNT 121a is completely graphitized and in a cylindrical shape. A cylindrical wall is formed of a graphite layer made of 6-member cycle of carbon. The graphite layer is structured from a carbon hexagonal mesh face (a graphen). Moreover, the CNT 121a has a double-layer structure consisting of a cylindrical structure of double graphite layer, with an outer diameter of less than 3.5 nm and a length in the order of tens of μm, that is, a 1,000 times or more of the diameter of the CNT.
