Abstract:
To provide a new method for controlling dental caries; to provide a chewing gum and a candy product (especially a sugarless product) which are used to control the dental caries, retard the advance of caries lesion, and further promote the retreat of the caries lesion; and to provide an acid-containing chewing gum and a candy composition which can promote the recalcification of the surfaces of mammalian teeth and impart acid resistance to the teeth.
The chewing gum composition or candy composition, in some embodiments, includes a gum base or a candy carrier, at least one sweetener, casein phosphopeptide-calcium phosphate, and at least one food-grade acid.
