A clothes dryer includes: an exhaust port 16 for discharging dry air inside a drying route 13; a suction port 17 for introducing the outside air into the drying route 13; an air quantity adjustment device 18 provided at least at one of the exhaust port 16 and the suction port 17; and a control device 25 for controlling drying operation. The air quantity adjustment device 18 includes: an on-off valve 19 for opening/closing the exhaust port 16 or the suction port 17; and a driving device 20 for driving the on-off valve 19. The on-off valve 19 configures an opening part 19c formed by a lid part 19a and a leg part 19b retractably with respect to the exhaust port 16 or the suction port 17. The driving device 20 includes an opening part 20a in which the distance from the rotation center is constant, and it is configured in such a manner that it can maintain the on-off valve 19 in an open state by the opening part 20a.
