To provide a colored and coated optical fiber which surely performs the identification of a multiplicity of coated optical fibers and a method for coloring the same, an optical fiber unit, and an optical fiber cable.
The colored and coated optical fiber 20 provided with the coated optical fiber 11, a transparent colored layer 12 disposed on the outer periphery thereof, and sign sections 13 disposed visibly from the outside between the optical fiber 11 and the colored layer is provided. The sign sections 13 are intermittently disposed in a multiplicity in the longitudinal direction of the optical fiber 20. The coloring method for the colored and coated optical fiber comprising intermittently coating the outer periphery of the optical fiber 11 with ink in its longitudinal direction, coating the outer periphery of the optical fiber 11 with a coloring agent and curing the coating to form the colored layer 12 is provided. The optical fiber unit having the optical fiber 20 is provided.
