Abstract:
To provide a contra-rotating propeller with easy application to an existing vessel and excelling in reliability.SOLUTION: A contra-rotating propeller 3 for a vessel includes: a main engine propeller 9 which is rotatably provided on a stern of a hull 5 with an axis in parallel to a vessel length direction as center and to which power of a main engine propeller shaft 21 for a main engine 6 is transmitted; and a sub propeller 7 which is arranged coaxial to the main propeller 9 and rotates in a reverse direction of the main propeller 9. The sub propeller 7 include: a cylindrical motor 13 which includes a cylindrical stator 47 retained by the hull 5 and a cylindrical rotor 45 provided outboard and arranged facing a radial direction of the stator 47 and rotating; a cylindrical sub propeller base unit 7a retaining the rotor 45 of the cylindrical motor 13 ;and a sub propeller blade 7b projecting in a radial direction of the rotor 45 from the sub propeller base unit 7a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
