Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive-force assistance device capable of effecting comfortable running by feeding an always proper assistance force in accordance with operator circumstances, such as operator's physical strength and fatigue, and environmental circumstances, such as head wind and an ascent hill.
SOLUTION: The drive-force assistance device comprises a fixing member fixed on a man-power drive spindle; a rotation member coupled with the fixing member through an elastic element and rotating the man-power drive spindle; a moving element moved in the axial direction of the man-power drive spindle guided by a guide groove formed in the rotation member as it is rotated together with the fixing member; and a detecting element to detect an amount of movement in an axial direction of a moving element. The magnitude of a man-power is detected by the amount of movement in an axial direction of the moving element corresponding to the bending amount of an elastic element bending according to the magnitude of a man-power.
